04/01 - 10/31

Fern Dell Gorge features a small but spectacular gorge cut into Upper Cambrian sandstone. The narrow 1/4 mile long gorge is a tributary to the larger Mirror Lake gorge. From the intersection of I-90/94 and Highway 12 in Wisconsin Dells, go west on Highway 12 for 0.5 mile, then west on Fern Dell Road 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Get a park map at the contact station.

"Fern Dell Gorge is located within the Mirror Lake State Park. (So you'll need a park sticker). I visited the narrow mile long gorge on an early March morning after a fresh snowfall. There were numerous ice falls. The gorge meets up with Mirror Lake. A maintained trail is available on the top left of the gorge that provides some amazing scenery. A small parking lot is located on Fern Dell Rd, between the Mirror Lake State Park and South Rd."
